Can You Love The Me You See

Just a man
With crazy schemes
Big ideas
Endless dreams
Countless faults
All wrapped inside
In the open
Just can't hide
This is what
I might be
Can you love
The me you see

Life on the edge
Whatever that means
Maybe nothing at all
My mind just clings
To an illusion
Of things yesterday
A mental glimmer
Till next someday
I can hope
Just might be
Can you love
The me you see

When all is lost
In hope reborn
The next idea
May end in scorn
Cause more pain
Or hopeful delight
Make the choice
In my restless plight
Till hope last
Will it be
Can you love
The me you see

This last verse
By now in wonder
The afterthought
Before now ponder
My poet's heart
Passion of now
Dreams new life
Practical how
I can't help
Who I'll be
Can you love
The me you see

I found you there.... Visiting Carnton Plantation here in Franklin I found the name of a confederate soldier from South Carolin...
