Two in the Mirror

This is simple,it is the consent battle that I have within myself, and I am sure you do also.I guess a rageing battle is better than complete surrender to your enemy though.

Two in the Mirror

I open my eyes

All that I see

Is the man that I am

Staring back at me

No reflection distorted

This image is true

Not just in the single

No a reflection of two

The man that I am

Then the one I see

One is the present

The other a hope to me

This I live with

These faces in there

In seeing the other

I know is all fair

Known.. neither one

Can live with the other

Though they are related

In soul they are brothers

What split the image

To make the two

Who moves the mirror

To change the true view

This can not go on

These two in the glass

One will continue

The other must pass

Must go forever

So, the other can stay

Only one twin survives

It firmly must be this way......

Whispering Pines

I wrote this on a breezy day, reflecting as I watched the breeze blowing the trees, and wondered all that those trees had seen.

Whisper Pines ( Across all Time)
Across all time
Through
whispering pines
The wind relays her voice

To call to mind
A more ancient time
When she spoke at a slower pace

When these she touched
Enjoyed her more
In the cool ,or a
warm spring breeze

No forward notice
To her arrival at all
Just the comfort of the release she brings

More gentler times
Knew the taller pines
For they have been more frequently so

Touched by her breath
Calmed by her voice
Loved when so gently she kissed.....

Removed

Removed

Painful and hurt
Heartbroke and more
Consistently vexed

Removed

Willfully lead
Mindlessly drawn
Mournfully abandoned

Removed

Contrite again
Totally surrendered
Ruined forever

"The Field of Folly"

This is my favorite, maybe my best. The thought and words came in a time of great turmoil in my family, in my personal life, and in my spiritual life.I believe God gave me these words to make me reflective and repentive.

"The Field of Folly"

Today I walked along a path
Barefoot beside a wall of holly
And came upon an open gate
Then walked into a "Field of Folly"

Upon the grass that grew inside
Were flowers most beautiful and rare
Catching the fragrant color of their blooms
The hours passing by as I did stare

Not only were the blossoms there
But in taller grass, well hidden
To keep the lookers and passers by
From a box which was forbidden

What could be in this well crafted cube
With hinges and lock of a golden treasure
And dare I break the silver chorded seal
To reveal it's often sought for pleasure

Now who could resist such a temptation
Finding contents of worth, so true
Heart bounding anxiously I broke the lock
And hoped for this treasure brand new

But in the box to my surprise
Was a treasure that few had ever taken
A simple request on common paper
That "The Dreamer must awaken"

Truest Friend

This is the beginning of the reposting of my favorite( ( to date) poems and a few words of commentary, knowing that ever one does not always understand the true meaning of a poet's words ....... Hope you enjoy!

My truest friend...

No judgmental glare

To condemn my plight

Not a flattering smile

Making easy my flight

In silence you proceed

Always willing to be

A place of refuge

Solace just for me

When I am empty

So are you beside

Waiting for my touch

Where we two collide

You lay there so softly

In a virgin's dress

Awaiting your lover

His most painful caress

Never saying a word

Yet, accepting all mine

Feeling my hurt

Mutely saying it's “all fine”

My truest one friend

In dark and or light

My hand across your skin

Forever is now all right

I can never forget you

My desire ever grows

To whom I am writing

No one will ever know

THis poem was meant to express the love affair that a writer has with paper and the pen. Maybe, some of the symbols will have more meaning if I let you in on the riddle.

Dancing in Weeds

Dancing in Weeds

Once upon, a winter’s day

Ground all cold and wet

The Planter, he did planted seeds

He never would regret

Planted he, knowing weeds

When winter did relent

Would bloom within planted soil

Where flowers, he did meant

When they did, bloom the both

The beauty did not quit

For flowers dance above the weeds

Because they’re heaven sent

Those flowers danced, danced the more

So all could smell their scent

The weeds looked up at brighter blooms

That the Planter always meant

Illegals and the Gospel...WWJD

I recently spoke with my brother who lives in Rockwall, Texas and attends a "Mega" church which we fondly refer to as "Church de Soleil".

He asked me what I thought about an outreach that they were about to have in a neighborhood in the immediate area of his church. Now this area is 80% Mexican( I refuse to use the word Hispanic , just like I won't refer to Blacks as African Americans, nor Scottish Americans as such), and he wanted to know if it was a good thing , or the right thing to reach out to these people knowing that the vast majority of them are in this country illegally.

My answer was "ABSOLUTELY", of course we should reach out to people of any race, tribe, nationality. The Gospel should be preached in every nation, even if some nations are taking up residence in your nation. They should be reached with fervor and compassion. It is WWJD of course.

Now that being said, it is also true that when Jesus confronted us about the gospel, or the Scriptures confront us with our sin, it is consistent in telling us to” sin no more". The thief that stole should not steal, the adulterer should not commit adultery anymore, the murderer should not murder, so forth and so on. I think we understand that the gospel should change us and we should try our best to live a life of less sinning, the best we can. Therefore, if the gospel reaches these people then they should, as the scriptures say, 'obey the laws of the land', which is the civil authority of the country they live in.

When we send missionaries to foreign country's we do our very best to comply with the laws of the land in which we go, as a sign of respect for that authority and so that the gospel be not thought of as evil, or disruptive. Now there are circumstances when obeying the Gospel is more important than obey the civil authority, but we still try.

HERE'S THE BIG FINISH....

My ending answer was this.......

If these people are truly converted, which no doubt many will be, to the praise of God Almighty, then they should with the help of the church be repatriated to the country of origin having confessed their sin of being here illegally, and probably stilling another person's identity to work in this country, get welfare, health care and tax refunds from the United States and the great state of Texas that they are not only not entitled to, but are in actuality stealing. They are breaking the Eighth Commandment and being a Commandment breaker myself, I know we should stop in order to be what God desires for us to be.

So, what do you think? Is this harsh? Am I being unreasonable? Have I misrepresented the Scriptures?

P.S........I know I usually post my poetry ,but my wife suggested that readership may go up ,if I take a different approach. I guess we will see.
