" What If "

Trying to think, to write, to speak

Only in recollection of then

To the beginning, of all that was

And may, come back again

Hands that clasp, won’t let go

Palms set, closed in sweat

Running, dancing, through this life

And a chance, not taken yet

This beautiful, poetic, field of dreams

Expanse that must never end

Please, keep running, with intent

My once forgotten friend

Turn and gaze, don’t let go

Hold tighter, now embrace

Kiss me here, for all the world

And quicken, this passioned pace

To the end, and then right through

Where all lovers find their place

That magical, wonderful, lonely land

That “what if “, will always chase

Remember

Remember, remember

Back long ago

Remember sweeter smiles

Recall, recall

Softer voices

Recalled in walks of miles

Return, return

To dreams again

Return to start anew

Rewind, rewind

To captured hearts

Rewind to what we knew

I found you there.... Visiting Carnton Plantation here in Franklin I found the name of a confederate soldier from South Carolin...
