A testament to abandon

I will not abandon thee

 Thou that first loved me

I will not abandon thee

When other lovers call

I will not be swayed

To stay away from thee

I will not whisper another's name

When it is yours that is sweetest on my lips

I will not abandon all that I know in my soul

To the foolishness of the momentary

I will live in abandonment to your love

For in thee do I find waiting arms outstretched

I will abandon myself to chivalry for your name

For you have cared for me when other loves failed

I will be full, even though my bowels ache with emptiness

For hunger abandons me, feasting on your kindness

I will cry to thee and abandon my pride

For your ears are always open to the needy

I will make my house in the place you have settled

For vanity has abandoned its' nest inside me

I will cast my lot in the hopefulness of the right

For eternity abandoned to your cause is no folly....
