On this Christmas Eve
More sweet than words
Presents, snow, cakes, and candies

Something more lovely
On this Christmas Day
More than smiles and bright eyes
Children with Christmas paper

Something more extravagant
On this blessed Advent night
More than offerings and prayers
Songs of praise and cheer

Something more common
On this glorious day
More ordinary than child’s cry
Common and holy as” family”
